Wall Drug

The first sign for Wall Drug starts at the South Dakota border - 335 miles from the store. We estimate that we saw about 40 or 50 billboards for this store - some samples below. The billboard craze was initiated by the owner's dream which suggested she advertise free ice water for travelers (1931). At the time they were near closure for lack of business. Now they are America's number one roadside attraction!

We did finally tell Karly that Jackelopes were only a myth.
